Committed to the Utilities SectorOver the last year, Cad-Capture has strengthened its commitment to the Utilities Sector, completing, amongst other things, a project to develop an integrated Document Management UVDB VerifyFollowing on from success at the UVDBlive event, held at Stoneleigh Park near Coventry and registration to the Achilles Utilities Vendor Database™ (UVDB), it was decided to take Edinburgh College of Art realises the benefits of AssetCapture Edinburgh College of Art (ECA) was looking for a solution which would enable the college to manage its architectural floor plans. The original plans consisted of 180 drawings which overed 3 buildings; a total of 33000 square metres. Cad-Capture offered a solution which enabled the drawings to be converted into one intelligent CAD File. Onwards and Upwards!!!During 2003 there were a number of changes within Cad-Capture, the most significant being the expansion and internal re-organisation of the sales department to include a dedicated telesales team. New product development was at the forefront of Cad-Capture’s plans and CaptureNet was launched. CaptureNet is a web based search and retrieval solution for viewing and printing documents. The first customer to take advantage of this new innovative product was NPS Property Consultants. Recent Contract AwardsCAPITA:Capita has recently awarded Cad-Capture a contract which involves the scanning of its paper documents and files into electronic PDF format, reating an ongoing partnership between two Lancashire based companies. Centro Captures Hummingbird DMCentro, the West Midlands Passenger Transport Executive chose Cad-Capture to provide its new document management solution based on Hummingbird DM. Centro is the key body esponsible for promoting and developing public transport in the West Midlands, including the Midland Metro. Centro decided their existing document management system was out of date and no longer supported their business requirements. Cad-Capture was chosen as they were able to rovide the best value solution. Centro required a document management solution that could be applied to both general office document management and to project-based document management, for example the storage of plans and other engineering documents associated with the Midland Metro project. Airtime Captured on the Information HighwayCad-Capture acquired the assets and business of Airtime Internet Resources Limited. Managing Director Simon Watts reviews a busy and exciting year for Cad-Capture established in 1994, Airtime is a respected business to business (B2B) Internet Service Provider (ISP) with a sizeable customer base including a number of high profile businesses as well as numerous consumer clients. Mutually beneficial to the operation of both businesses, service delivery to both Cad-Capture and Airtime customers has been considerably enhanced. The availability of high bandwidth internet connectivity has enabled Cad-Capture to offer a range of innovative document and knowledge management services to business and industry. Additionally, the connection has enabled Cad-Capture to expand the scope of its bureau operation and to effectively carry out data and document capture world-wide. Airtime customers have benefited from the expansion of available internet services and the ability to access state of the art hosting GIS ContractCad-Capture has been awarded a £1.6 million order by United Utilities for specialist document management services. Cad-Capture will be responsible for the quality assurance of digitised data for United Utilities' electricity supply network throughout the North West of England. The contract is an important element in United Utilities' plans to implement an area wide GIS based information management system for its network and will involve the processing of over 200,000 maps. It is anticipated the project will take up to 2 years to complete. Max RetrieverCad-Capture now provides an integrated Computer On Line Data (COLD)/Enterprise Report Management (ERM) solution for use with its document and knowledge Somerset Document Management SystemCad-Capture has been chosen by Somerset County Council Environment and Property Department to implement a Hummingbird document management solution throughout the department. Somerset took the decision to purchase the Hummingbird system towards the end of 2000 and determined that an experienced Hummingbird partner was needed to enable them to effectively implement the system. Cheshire Adopts PlanCad-Capture has supplied Cheshire County Council Cheshire) Engineering Services with a solution for preserving their Development Control and Road Adoption Plans. The hard copy plans have been updated by hand and used as a reference for many years. As a consequence they had deteriorated and in their present condition would present increasing difficulties for effective future use. In order to preserve the information in the plans, Cheshire decided to have them converted into digital format.
